Faculty Bios

Bill Burnett, ’79, MS ’82, is an adjunct professor in mechanical engineering and executive director of the Stanford Design Program. He combines art and engineering to share the joy of product design with Stanford students. Bill holds a number of patents as well as several design awards for his work at Apple in the 1990s.

Dave Evans, ’75, MS ’76, is a lecturer in mechanical engineering and cofounder of the Stanford Life Design Lab. His passion is helping people apply the principles of design thinking to the wicked problem of designing your life. Dave led the first mouse team at Apple and co-founded Electronic Arts.
