Startups in Silicon Valley are inherently sexy, so most of us dream of being entrepreneurs at some point in our career.  Many entrepreneurship lectures focus on the "how" of becoming an entrepreneur, while neglecting the "why." Is entrepreneurship right for me?  Is it the right time to start a business?  Are my skills a match for the business I want to launch?  This session, which features a combination of lecture and in-class exercises, is designed to help us answer these questions.  Whether you are just thinking about starting a business or have been an entrepreneur for many years, pondering these questions can help us be more successful and fulfilled in pursuing our entrepreneurial goals.

Rashmi Menon has launched numerous businesses and products within large corporations including The Walt Disney Company, Microsoft, and Yahoo!.  She co-founded Green Resource Network and served as Vice President of Product Management at two startups, Zvents (acquired by eBay) and VideoGenie. Currently, she serves as a product and strategy consultant to numerous companies and is a mentor at the StartX Startup Accelerator. She teaches entrepreneurship and product management courses through the Stanford University Continuing Studies Program and received a BA, magna cum laude and phi beta kappa, from Harvard University and an MBA from Stanford University.
