July 9 to 18, 2013

Delve into the castles, countryside and colorful tales of this storied land with historian Carolyn Lougee while staying in three quintessential Irish towns and cities—Ennis, Killarney and Dublin.

Explore picturesque County Clare, with its winding lanes and lively pubs brimming with Celtic music and storytelling, and relive Ireland’s past as we view prehistoric re-creations at Craggaunowen. Admire the pristine coastal scenery of the Ring of Kerry, visit the stunning Cliffs of Moher and wander the charming streets of Killarney. Listen to local barkeeps, sheepherders and musicians as they share their tricks of the trade, passed down for centuries. Conclude in vibrant Dublin and visit Trinity College, where we view the exquisitely detailed, beautifully hand-illuminated 8th-century Book of Kells.
