“Women Winning the Vote: The Largest Expansion of the Franchise in US
History”
Wednesday, May 20: 6:00-7:00 pm
Come hear Nancy Tate, ’70, former Executive Director of the League of Women
Voters of the United States and chair of the 2020 Women’s Vote Centennial
Initiative, discuss the 72 year fight for American women to win the
constitutional right to vote with passage of the 19th Amendment. Utilizing
original photos, her presentation will cover not only the overall story of
this social justice movement, but also a close-up look at what happened in
Virginia, Maryland, and California. Time for questions will be available
at the end.
